Can Still Go

About Can Still Go

Can Still Go is a fictional band made up as part of Snes’s (the character, who is actually very old lulz) backstory. Every song and all music and lyrics are written entirely by me (snesfreak).  The music is made with Guitar Pro 7.6, the “vocals” are standard TTS voices (which is why they’re not actually singing). I use Audacity to edit everything together.

“A.I.” is not and will never be used to write any part of these songs.

Now with that out of the way, here’s the actual CSG page (which is written from British Brian’s POV.)

History

About ten years ago, Snes was robbed of his most precious possessions, his prized Craftmatic chair and the free VCR he got with it, by some whippersnappers while living in the Olds Town retirement community.  This vile and disgusting crime resulted in the other members of the band (illegally) forcing him out of Can Still Go, claiming that he “couldn’t go” anymore.  Since then he has founded and built SnesMart into the glorious empire it is today.

Recently the remaining members of the band were approached by Mr. Mister Buttemunche, the disgraced former lead attorney for TrashMart.  The Buttmunch, as he’s known, had just given up on being a corporate lawyer and decided he wanted to start his own record label.  His brilliant plot to get revenge on Snes for getting him fired was to sign the corpse of Can Still Go as Buttemunche Records’ first band.

Unfortunately, he also decided he wanted to be IN Can Still Go.  He used his experience as a shady and corrupt lawyer to sneak a clause into the band’s record contract forcing them to let him join the band as their keyboard player.

Not only that, but he also refused to let them hire an actual producer or go to a professional recording studio.  Instead their newest album, called “Get Off Our Lawns”, was produced by Buttemunche himself and recorded in his garage.

Members

Current

Gomer

The lead singer (if you can call what he does “singing”) and rhythm guitarist, he has been in the band since it’s founding in the 1970s.

Gomer 2

Gomer’s younger brother. He plays bass, does backing and sometimes lead vocals.

Whacky Jack

He plays lead guitar, and also does backing and occasional lead vocals.

Richie “Big Hits” Richards

The drummer, despite what Mr. Mister Buttemunche claims, he actually does have to use electric drums due to his deteriorating health and lack of strength.

Buttemunche

The band’s keyboard player, backing vocalist, and manager.  He is obsessed with getting revenge on Snes and SnesMart for getting him fired as TrashMart’s lead attorney, as shown in the leaked recording of him ranting about SnesMart while recording one of their crappy new songs.

Former

Snes

Our brilliant and definitely not old CEO and founder of the band. Unknown to the rest of them (because they’re idiots) he owns 100% of the rights for the band’s name, which means they are currently illegally using the name.

Cornelius Mundscheißer

The former bassist for the band, he joined after Snes was forced out and was kicked out himself after going on a disgusting rant about how he hated his family.  He was also outed as a bigot and a racist by Buttemunche, who confirmed that there are other recordings of him ranting and spewing his horrible opinions.

The rest of the band were apparently not aware of his views or history when he joined and were unanimous in wanting to kick him out.

Discography

Can Still Go never released any albums while Snes was in the band due to the other members being too lazy to go into a studio, their only album is the current one.

Get Off Our Lawns – 2026

A horrible and very short album with nine bad songs,  thirteen on the “Super Deluxe” edition which is somehow being sold for $200.

Songs

01-The Whippersnapper-Lawn Epidemic

A very weird song where a man in his 30s gives a speech about whippersnappers being on lawns, Buttmunch somehow convinced the other members that he should do the song himself and claims to have written it.

02-Get Off Our Lawns

The shitty album’s shitty title track featuring the shitty singing of their shitty keyboard player.

03-Whippers-Snapper

The Buttmunch had the nerve to call this a “punk song” that you “can dance to.”

The only dance he knows is the monkey.

04-Don’t Call Me A Boomer

Gomer doesn’t want to be called a boomer, that’s it.  No substance at all.

05-Whippersnapper Interlude

AKA Buttmunch Intertrode. What Buttmunch claims was going to be one of those “instrumental medley” songs that you would hear on Tommy or Quadrophenia, since apparently this album was going to be a rock opera double-album instead of 20 minutes of nonsense that sounds worse than some boom box demos from the 80s.

06-What A Lifey

The band members all complain about how things were back in their day, except for Cornelius, who whines about being “bled dry” by having to spend “one or even two dollars a week” on candy bars for his grand kids.

07-Turn That Racket Down

A strange song on an album with “loud” and “heavy” songs, like the next one.  I’m also suspicious about the drumming on this one, knowing how Richie “Big Hits” Richards is barely able to play drums anymore.

08-Hasn’t Been Long Enough

According to the Buttmunch this song was going to be another of the “rock opera” songs, difficult to believe at best. This is also clearly a ripoff of a Staind song from like 25 years ago.

09-We Can Still Go

Despite what the band claims, this song was actually written by Snes in the 80s and was stolen by the remaining members for this album.  They’ll get what’s coming to them soon, oh yes.

10-(LE-bonus track)-Whippers-Snapper Alt Version

Buttmunch says he brought in some “guest musicians” to record this version of this song, but little does he know those musicians were actually members of the SnesMart Talk band.  They were able to get inside information on the band from him without him ever knowing.

11-(LE-bonus track)-Don’t Call Me A Boomer Alt Version

No one really knows when or where this version of this song was recorded, seeing as it was clearly not done by Buttmunch.  It’s possible it was recorded by the band on their own behind his back as he is not on it at all, unlike the normal album release.

12-(LE-bonus track)-What A Lifey Extended Version

The song that got Cornelius Mundscheißer kicked out of the band, this version was released to “protect” the band from false accusations according to the Buttmunch.

13-(LE-bonus track)-We Can Still Go “Live” Version

They claim this song is a live performance, but have never said when or where it was recorded, as they weren’t on tour until after the album’s release.

A very suspicious claim.

Future Album- ????

Songs for an apparent future album.

Zoomer Boomer

A confusing song that seems to be about an old man calling himself a “zoomer boomer” threatening to beat up a gen-z college graduate who is on his lawn, possibly a family member?

????

Only a snippet of this song has been heard, a leaked recording in which the Buttmunch goes on a pathetic rant about getting revenge on our wonderful store and CEO. The name of the song is not currently known.
